Niobrara National Scenic River

The 76 miles of the Niobrara National Scenic River winds through dramatic bluffs, incredible wildlife diversity, gorgeous waterfalls, world-class fossil resources, and plenty of floating fun for the whole family. Less than 1/4 of one percent of US rivers are designated under the National Wild & Scenic Rivers System.

The Niobrara River runs right through a section of the ranch and the closest access point for guests is about 2.5 miles south of the cabins at Brewer Bridge.

Niobrara River Valley

The Niobrara Valley supports exceptional biological diversity within its narrow confines, where elements of the following ecosystems exist in the same area or very close to each other: northern boreal forest, ponderosa pine forest and savanna, eastern deciduous forest, tallgrass prairie, mixed-grass prairie, and sandhills prairie. Approximately 160 species of plants and animals found in the Niobrara Valley are at the edge of their range. Some plant and animal species are state or federally listed as rare, threatened, endangered, or candidate species.

Breathe it in

The ranch is the perfect place to just unwind and breathe the fresh air, but for the times that you want to get up and move, we offer the following activities:

  • pedal cars- you know you want to race
  • horse shoes
  • private fishing pond that is stocked with trout- it's basically cheating since the water is crystal clear

  • playground with swings, slide, fort, and teepee
  • tether ball
  • corporate team building
